The Spanish Steps are known as a set of steps that are used to climb the steep slope of Piazza di Spagna and lead to the top of Trinita dei Monti. At the top, the scene is dominated by the Trinita dei Monti Church. Located at the eastern end of the city, the base is crowded with many shops that attract tourists from everywhere. Many people gather here to enjoy the Italian sun and watch the tourists who flock and gaze at the architecture the area has to offer.
Most of the shops around the Spanish steps are upscale, meaning that the more famous brands like Gucci, Prada and Louis Vuitton have made this their base. In combination with this, the more expensive and luxury hotels and apartments dominate this scene. The area is complete with a small museum, designer shops and a wide range of restaurants and bars.

For both the modern visitor and the visitor to who wants experience the authentic Rome, the Spanish Steps will satisfy both. The Fontana della Barcaccia is worth the mentioning, located at the foot of the Steps. Commissioned by a pope and created by the famous Bernini. The area is connected to tourist busses, but also to all the other public transportation lines.
