Inside Barcelona

Mar Bella Beach

The area hosts ample facilities, including a skateboard rink, basketball hoop, and ping-pong tables, making it the perfect beach for anyone hoping to enjoy some activities by the sea. There is also a volleyball court and children’s playground closer to the waterfront. Many of the area’s locals are attracted to this beach rather than the more touristy beaches closer to the city centre. Therefore it is far cleaner and less crowded. Be sure to check out the nautical centre’s water sport facilities on your visit!

Nova Icaria beach is perfect for anyone wanting to escape the liveliness of the city! There is also a charming view of the marina. Nova Icaria has a reputation for high quality services and amenities, the beach offers a number of excellent restaurants and shops for when you need a break from the sun. Try out kayaking or windsurfing at the Centre Minicipal de Vela if you’re feeling adventurous!

Music, dancing, beach parties and more! If a lively atmosphere is what you’re after, then Barceloneta Beach should be your number one choice.  Lined with some of the city’s best beach bars, restaurants, and nightclubs – the area is lively almost all of the day! Towards the top of the beach you will find a large arcade, along with the Espai de Mar Centre, a facility offering a variety of both sport and leisure activities. This beach is easily accessed by foot or metro and is handily located close to the city’s other attractions.

Outside Barcelona

Sant Pol del Mar - One of the most beautiful beaches in Barcelona

It is hard to believe that this beach is just a one-hour train ride away from Barcelona’s core due to its quiet, peaceful atmosphere. With hidden coves, rolling hills and clear water, St. Pol de Mar is a great option for travellers seeking scenic views. The beach town is also home to the gothic church of Sant Juame, a treat for anyone interested in architecture!

In the nearby Province of Girona, you will find the lovely sea-side town of Tossa de Mar. Crystal blue waters, scenic mountain views, and a picturesque fishing village are what make this beach such a hidden gem. There is a number of traditional shops, restaurants and bars to choose from giving the town an authentic Spanish feeling. The majestic castle and medieval walls add to the charm of the old town. Snorkelling, cliff jumping, and cave diving are just a few of the exhilarating activities the beachfront offers.
